#PTALive Melbourne 2014 Book Haul

Heya!!!!

So Bookhaul time :)))

So if you have checked out my last blogpost which was a recap of PTALive Melbourne, you'll know that I gotten some books from bookworld since it was discounted.

I purchased 3 books and in the show bag we were given a new released book for free!

Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek

by

So we were all given a copy of this at PTA Live and what's interesting about this is that its a non-fiction book about a girl who finds a 1950's popular guide and uses it for a "social experiment". What's really cool about the book is that the author is still in High School!

I am definitely looking forward to reading this!

Side Effects May Vary

by

Written from the perspectives of both Harvey and Alice, in Side Effects May Vary, Julie Murphy weaves a compelling story of friendship, relationships and love, with a little bit of death thrown in for good measure; at least for a while.

When sixteen-year-old Alice is diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, she vows to spend her final months righting wrongs. So she convinces her best friend Harvey, who's loved her forever, to help with compiling a crazy just-dying-to-do bucket list, that's as much about revenge as it is about redemption. But just when Alice's scores are settled, she goes into remission. Now she must face the consequences of all she's said and done and discover just what happens when we say our 'final' words, only to find that life isn't through with us yet.

Sharp, witty and poignant - this is a book written for all ages
Okay so this is the only book I had in mind when i went for PTA Live
When i first heard about this from book reviewers who gotten ARCs for this and saw the title, one thing came into my mind ...
TFIOS ANYONE???
I have just started reading this and from the first few chapters IT IS VERY DIFFERENT from TFIOS but in a good way.

Muahahaha *sorry Steph :P

My friend Stephine reading Side Effect May Very during the break.

"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another

The moment I step into PTA Live, gotten an seat, rush down to the bookworld table to brows trough the selection of bookk, my heart jump when i saw this as i heard A Lot of good things about this!!

Some of my fav booktubers rave highly about this book so i decided to get myself a copy.

Also it was only $10 which was cheaper than what I was expecting to pay.

Just One Day (Just One Day #1)

From the New York Times bestselling author of If I Stay

Allyson Healey's life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.

A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the “accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know.

I really want to read Gayle Forman books and the first one i saw was "Just One Day" so during the intermission i picked it up.

Will get the sequel "Just One Year" if I enjoy it but I am hitting myself in the head for not getting "It I Stay" which from what I heard is also turned into a movie.

 TFIOS POSTER!!!

MASSIVE February BOOK HAUL !!!!

HEYA!!!!

so first thing first ...

I AM DONE WITH SUMMER SCHOOL!! YAY XD

So i am gonna celebrate with taking out my iDevices and film a few haul vids and editing blogpost while the whole residents get drunk ... yah ... lol (i am not joking ><")

I also got the inspiration of the style taking this picture from one of my favorite booktubers Bookables from the tumbler so i will link her tumbler.
SO... ON TO THE BOOK TOWER OF TERROR!!! *DRAMATIC DUN DUN DUN*

I  have in total 14 books this month .... yup went a little cray cray ...

But they were all at such a good deal!!!!

Sound Bender (Sound Bender #1)

So i saw this in my Uni's bookshop at half price so it was around $10.

Anything with the word bending or bender i am all ears for it as i love manipulating the elements (obsess with legend of avatar series)

Also cause this book has a male lead thought i should pick it up to let my brother read as he is not a fan of alot of the books that i read (which has female leads)

Return to the Hundred Acre Wood

by

Its winnie the pooh!!! Need i say more???

Its a Classic in my book :P

When i saw this at Dymocks i had to get this as i have heard a lot of amazing things about this so for $10 why not?!

Also i was fangirling on the illustration as it follow the classic winnie the pooh and its breath taking beautiful!

Shades of Grey (Shades of Grey #1)

Heard a few booktubers talking about this and was interested with the description.

I have been wanting to get more into dystopian so hopefully this will be a great read.

Doctor Who: Shada

by

Goodreads Link

I love Doctor Who and when this had to pick it up!

I am familiar with the fact that Douglas Adams is one of the Classic Who writers and also made a few of his doctor who script into books like hitch hicker guide to the galaxie.

This is a smart way to expand those Doctor Who script that didnt made it as an episode by publishing it into a book!

Speaking of Doctor Who i got two "Quick Reads" off the book depository which are like novellas for the Doctor Who (Modern Who) series.

One is Doctor Who: Code of the Krillitanes by Doctor Who: The Silurian Gift by

I got them as my brother wanted to read them but were flipping expensive back home so yah ... turn to the internet as its cheaper:P

Looking for Alaska

So i saw this on Bookdepository just browsing the John Green section when i saw this at 68% off for like $6 which flipping cheap so while buying those Doctor who quick reads i added this to my chart too!

An Abundance of Katherines

When i saw that the discription was Big Bang Theory on a road trip i had to get this!

One of the website that i use call Bookworld had a 40% discount on all their books so since at that time i was reading looking for alaska i thought i may as well get the next john green book since i want to read all his books by the TFIOS movie

Piece of Cake (Smitten)

Head Over High Heels (Smitten)

Had my eye on this at big W so i randomly walk in one day and thought why now.

Probably one of my fav smitten book as i can visualize its setting since its set in Melbourne CBD.  Also its one of the more dramatic books in this romance series.

Crash into You (Pushing the Limits #3)

Heard alot of good things on youtube about this and although i have not read any of the earlier books i still picked it up as it sounded really good.

And also this was one of those ransom moments in Big W when i just browse trough the book section and pick up a new book ... yah that place is dangerous! lol

These Broken Stars (Starbound #1)

How to Keep a Boy from Kissing You (Aurora Skye #1)

by  Goodreads Link

I have seen this at Big W multiple times but never picked it up so when i won the second book in the series i immediately went  and made a sneaky little purchase from Big W.

Its one of those funny, cute, een romance and i am almost done with it so i cant wait to review it you guys! Also Tara Eglinston is Another Aussie author which is great as i have been wanting to read more Australian authors.

How to Convince a Boy to Kiss You (Aurora Skye #2)
by
 Goodreads Link

Ok so this i won from a goodreads giveaway and let me just say how flipping happy I was when i saw this in my mail box as I didnt expect to win it let alone love it!

I went out to get the first book to do justice to the series as well. Have not read it yet but am loving the first book so i cant wait to marathon this.

Also what i was more excited about was that it was autograph and dedicated to me! xD happy fangirl i say !!

So yah ....and i you think that's all the books i've gotten this month ... i am NOT done yet! lol

I am now back in Malaysia and a couple of times i went out with my dad to the bookshops i did some more damage... yah... so if you love seeing pretty pictures of books keep your eyes peal for another book haul in the near future!

CHRISTMAS Lush haul!!!

HEYA!!!!!

Haul time!!! :D

So i have a good old lush haul!!!!

I love lush and this is what happen when i go into the store for just one thing .. ONE THING ... i come out WITH MORE :P

haha story of my life!

But I can justify this impulse buy as the Christmas collection are here so ... nuf said :D

Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo 100g

"Condition, body and shine for wavy, fluffy and frizzy hair. Cynthia Sylvia Stout is made with stout beer, which your great-grandmother probably used to make her hair shiny. Stout contains protein to give your hair weight, smoothness and gloss. It’s excellent for hair that goes frizzy in the damp. Cynthia smells delicious, just like a brandy, stout and lemon cocktail and even makes curly hair shiny."

This was my main purpose of going into lush ... to re-purchase this little bottle of hair miracle.. and yes i said it!

This "beer" shampoo is a really great cleansing shampoo. It's great if you like me have slightly greasy hair and need that little help in the oil control department. For me i really like how squeaky clean my hair is when i am done with my shower. It is quiet clarifying so i recommend once a week to cleanse product build up.

It cost's $12.95 which is really pricy especially cause this is the smallest bottle but a little goes a long was as this little bottle last me for 4 months!
"Inspired by our love for roses and the benefits of nourishing argan oil, this shower gel is a decadent as it gets!  Skin brightening goji berry juice and Sicilian lemon give your skin a boost, while rose oil and rose absolute leave it soothed, softened and beautifully fragranced.  A luxurious way to start each day. "

I've been hearing alot of hype over this shower gel in the beauty world and decided to pick up the middle size bottle so that when my family comes to visit i can treat to trying some lush products (we don't have lush back home in Malaysia)

Like the name, the consistency is like strawberry jam and it smell like a rose infused jam. The rose scent remind me of rose sirup from my high school days when i will occasionally treat myself to a glass of rose sirup water from the canteen during a hot humid day.

"Double-strength conditioning cocktail. American Cream was inspired by a vision of 1950s US milk bars, bright red-leather-and-chrome, neon-lit cafes, where teenagers would meet and drink frothy, fruity milkshakes. Our creamy conditioner is what the girls would have used to make their hair soft before going out on a date, dressed up in their bobby socks and circular skirts. The scent of honey, vanilla, strawberries and oranges is so sexy and sweet that dates can’t stay away."

I always ask for samples whenever I go to lush so I decided to give it a go and try this conditional (why not its free :P). its not too bad but I think I'll try it a couple more times before seeing if I'll commit to buying a full size.

"Keep your skin looking and feeling amazing with this limited edition sugar scrub.  This year it’s even more beneficial for the skin, with added coconut oil and butters, such as murumuru and organic shea butter, to intensely moisturise.  Sugar and sand add the gentle polishing effect.  Fragranced with toning Brazilian orange oil as a nod to his exotic inspiration – the sand sculptures on Copacabana beach!"

Oh gosh just the name shout Christmas to me!!

I love this body butter/scrub! in fact as for typing out this blog now I have used up this sandy Santa! Its so nice and moisturizing and the scrub smoothen my skin!

I recommend chopping up (sorry santa :P) and using bit by bit of this the scrub on damp skin and scrub onto spots you want to moisturize and scrub.

It cost about $6.95 and it is not too messy to use in the bathroom as the sugar mixture dissolve into the dampen skin or into the water.

So that's my Christmas lush haul!!!

Hope you guys enjoy and if you want to see me haul it on my channel the vid is down below.

Check out the other awesome lush Christmas goodies here on the Lush Site.

Whatcha think of the lush goodies that I got???

Share with me your lush haul / thoughts on the lush goodies :)

Mall haul!!! JB-HIFI AND COTTON ON BODY

Heya!! So i going to the mall is a bit dangerous especially with sales going around and coupon ... so.....

HAUL TIME XD

So if you don't already know i have a YouTube channel and one of my favorite vids to do is Haul... Well I thought it will be cool to switch it up with posting it here on my blog on the stuff i pick up from the mall today.

Ok I'll start with Jb-Hifi which is  favorite shop for CD's and i wanted to take opportunity 20% off coupon to CD's and decided to get a couple on my wishlist that i'll never pay full price for and isn't something I'll usually pick up as i usually wait till the CD's are at $10 or a buy 2 get 1 free sale at JB-HIFI.

So i got sorta a theme here for this mini CD haul... TV soundtracks...yup...so i got 2 Soundtracks for 2 tv shows that really love but usually wont get.

Channeling my inner gleek in this picture!

First one is not a surprise to you guys as if you don't already known i am a hugh fan of Glee!!

So i saw this for $12 and after the discount was $10 and I have been eying on this since season 2 (yes guys its been a while... :p) and its Glee Presents the Warbler which apart of the new directions are my favorite glee show choir on the show as they are so different from the new direction and because they sing most of their songs Acapella it just makes them more cooler! They have a lot of awesome songs like Teenage Dream, Misery and Raise your glass!! I really wish they release another warbler album as there  many great warbler songs on the show and that they include songs from warblers other that Kurt and Blaine!

Also fun fact... If you don't already know fan fiction is one of my guilty pleasure and it also was a big influence to get this album as i just love alot of the warbler fanfict like Dalton and Brother Wes series (2 ultimate fav warbler related stories) and the "musical scenes" in the stories makes me want listen to them more. Yah i am obsess  with the warblers (and they are freaking cute in their Dalton uniform ;D)!

By the way my favorite warbler apart from Blaine and Kurt are Wes (my warbler crush :3 and i love reading fanfict that is about him xD), Jeff ( the actor Riker band R5 is freaking amazing!!), Nick (him leading the warbler in Up Down Girl ...*dead* ^^) , Trent ( how could you not love "bright ball of sunshine" ... Or as Finn will say of the group??? Also
His lines are freaking random XD) and Sebastian (yes i know he is mean ^{{\>£{\\ at times but dang his charm!! Also you have to admit he is a great performer and singer! Btw if he and Santana were not gay I'll ship them!!)

Ok so this will come as a surprise as the other tv soundtrack is Sonny with a Chance!

Just a heads up I may be on the verge of being 20 but i love watching Disney (confession... I still watch Austin & Ally and Good Luck Charlie) and hey you're never too old for Disney!

So Sonny With a Chance is one of the best  Disney live action series ( beats Hannah Montana and Wizard of Waverly place) and i freaking loved the series! I was quiet sad when they canceled the series but totally am ok an understandable with the reason. Demi Lovato who is the star of the show is one of my most favorites singer/actress/idol (cant wait to see her on GLEE!!) and she have a couple of songs on this album that i remember enjoying.

Other cast members also contributed to this soundtrack and Allstar Weekends (which is one of my favorite band) even have a song here! So it was sort of worth for me to get it since i have heard of it and love most of the songs.

It was slightly more pricier than what i am normally willing to pay for a cd ($12 after discount to be exact) but it was on my wishlist since I was 17 and the only one of that in stores so yah... Kinda a impulse buy but i manage to justify it :p

Also random but if any of you are into video games ( I am one of them ;D)  you'll know there is a new PS3 excluseve game coming out call Beyond two Souls staring Ellen Page and seeing this display makes me pump for the game release! Yah just a random pic but i do love video games and i do play them but not own any as i borrow from friends (boy am I in their debt lolz) and I cant wait for thos game to be releasd! Have not been this excited since the release of The Last Of Us (another awesome game that you have to play is you love the ps3)

Now i only got one item from cotton on body (and noooooo its not... You know ;p)

So i got this really nice an comfy jumper... Or hoodie for $10 which is a real steal having  that one of this Hoodie usually cost like $30!

Most of the hoodie were not in my size so it was either this or a pink one that i was not a fan of and Blue is my favourite color its perfect!
Me "modelling" my new hoodie

Its kinda a bold electric blue in a nice way with Nineteen ninety one written on. Its really nice and comfy so i can wear it when i just lazy to dress up for classes or want to lounge around in my sweats.

So that's a quick little haul of stuff that i picked up today at the mall. Let me know what you think of this quick little pick ups??? maybe I'll do if more often .

Till Next time

Maybelline & Covergirl Priceline Haul

Heya!!

So... Priceline ... I blaine you for the damage you temp me into doing ;p

So there are a few new items in the Australia market and Priceline had them on sales so i went there 3 times and boy did i get alot of new stuff to try and maybe spent a bit too much .... Yah :P

Anyway HaUl time!!!

So i got some stuff from Covergirl they were having eyes and lip products at $10 a piece and Maybelline since everything was 50% off!! A good deal not to miss!!

So i got this after trying my friend Debbie's mascara and i loved how it lengthens and hold the curl of my lashes! So i had to get it when i was it at $10!!

Covergirl just released this new lip crayon call the Lip Perfection Gloss Balm and i decided to get this very dark plum colour in 260 Plum Twist since i have nothing like this in my collection. Will review with you guys as i have to try it yet.

Ok now onto the Maybelline stuff!

I got the Maybelline color whisper in 65 Pink Possibilities and its a nice neutral pink from how i swatch in the store. Have yet to try (i just open it to take the pic! Lol) but i really want to see its different with the Revlon Lip butter. Also i love the name (i am a sucker for fun names in make up) as it reminds me of Kim Possible! Lolz

Next is the Maybelline Megaplush Volume Express and i got it thanks to all the rave on youtube. Cant wait to try it! Also i am done with a few mascaras so yay! New mascara time!

Next i got two Maybelline color tattoo and its the new metal collection!! Man were this guys hard to get!!! Every time i went to priceline they were sold out on this guys!! Well actually i am not surprise as it is quiet popular in the blogger world.

Ok so i got 55 Inked in Pink which is a nice shimmery rose pink and yah i thought this was a nice everyday pink color.

Next i got 70 Barely Branded which is a said to be a dupe or MAC paint pot in Bare Study which i have yet to try or own... Now that I think about it i don't own anything from MAC... Ah well.. Anyway yah i saw lots of swatch dupe online and i knew i had to own it since and whats more my prayers have finally been answered for a drugstore cream eyeshadow that was a nice neutral champagne color!

So yah that's my haul and also a good view of all the damage or goodies i have done and picked up!  Lol

Have you guys taken opportunity of this amazing sales from Priceline??

Till next time!!!

Quick and Sweet Benefit Haul!!! 50% OFF Sweet-n-wow KIT!

Heya!!!!!

So I was at Myers and I walked by the benefit counter and what did I see but the 50% off clearance section...ugh ohhhhhhhhh

Yup I had to... ;p

So yah I probably splurged a bit but its not everyday benefit make up goes on 50% !

So i got the Sweet-n-wow kit for $25 originally $51 which here in Australia ITS A BIG DEAL as make up here is about double to triple the US RRP.

This kit comes with a full size Sugar Bomb and a small size pose tint.

Pose Tint

Pose Tint is a poppy-pink lip and cheek stain that comes in a small vial with a nail polish like applicator.

From what i heard you are to put 3 dots on your cheeks and blend it in with your fingers but three dots was not enough to get the pigmentation that i wanted.Kinda needed 6 to 8 dots to get to the pigmentation that i wanted but i am guessing the amount to apply depends on your skin tone.

When i first open the bottle i thought it was a very bright pink but when apply on my cheeks it surprisingly look natural on my cheeks! its not crazy pink but a normal "healthy flush" sort of pink!

I really liked this and funny thing was after trying it out i could not be border to remove the blush when i went to the gym and when i came back i was surprise that it didn't budge! quiet good prove that its water prove and "sweat prove".

Good cheek stain but i have yet to try it on my lips.

Sugarboom box powder
"Sugar Rush Flush"

Next is the Sugar Boom blush and i have tried this at the counter last year and really like how it looks on me so it was like "destiny" calling me to get this when i saw this kit on the clearance table

I have yet to try it at home but i really like the color of this blush! This powder is made out of four shades that is a pink, rose, soft plum and peach and when swirl it all together makes a nice peachy pink bronze blush that will look good for the summer time or in my case if you are from a tropical country all year round!

Can't say too much about the product now as i just got it and have yet to play with it so i'll probably update in a review.

What i can say is i have played with the brush and man is it the softest brush my cheeks have ever felt! keep in mind i have yet to owe any face brush apart from an ELF angle face brush as i usually use the applicator that comes with the product.

Also i am obsess with the smell of the blush! it has a nice musky smell which surprise me as i thought it will smell sweet!

Overall:

I had my eyes set on Benefit's Box blushes especially Sugarboom for quiet a while now. Its a great deal as you are getting a full size blush and a deluxe sample size pose tint and with the 50% discount you cant go wrong!

Original Price: $51
Sales Price: $25

Where to get: in Australia Benefit counters are located at Myers Departmental Store.

So if you want this box blush at amazing deal GO GET IT NOW!!! :D

What's the sweetest deal you've ever snatch?

Till Next time
