Random Haul: Books, CDs, Toys!!

Heya!

So i have a random collective haul today :))))

Yup it is very random but that's how Rotan Random World roll :P

WHAT I GOT

1) Toys from Big W ~ I usually buy Easter chocolates after Easter when they are on sales and sometimes i will get a few cute toys for myself and my brother (dont judge ! its a tradition :P). so i got a cute fluffy duck and a couple of toy car

Duck ~ $2
Toy Cars ~ 50 cent each!

  2) So Little Time books ~ I went trough a phrase where i collected this! I still read them but when i am back home as that's where my stash of Mary Kate & Ashely books are. I didn't have this two books in my collection and i have been wanting some new books to read. I found them in a flea market for $2 each

3) I capture the castle ~ I have been eyeing on this at my uni's co-op book shop for a while. The other day they had 35% off all novels so i finally picked it up for $6.45 after discount.

4) Glee Summer Break Novel ~ I got this book at allbooks4less bookshop for $5! back home i have been wanting this for years but could never bring myself to buy it as it's really expensive.

5) The Script Science & Faith album ~ The Script is one of my favorite bands! I dont owe any of their albums so this was a great find as it usually $20++ but i found it in Big W for $9.95!

6) Gordan Lightfoot Gords Gold ~ This i got from Jb-HiFi for $7 for my dad. I always remember how my dad talks about Gordan Lightfoot and i remember in Malaysia its either hard to find or overprice so for $7 its a good deal

Make Up Review: Essence Home Sweet Home

Heya!

So i was at Target the other day and i stumble upon Essence limited edition collection called Home Sweet Home.

So its been a while since an essence collection caught my attention and if i like the collection i go CRAZY and grab more than planed!

The whole Home Sweet Home theme is based on curling up in the couch in your warm woollies with a mug of hot chocolate on a cold winters day.

That to me is my ideal "winter cozy day" not home sweet home day as I think of my home country Malaysia and coconut water and home cook meal at home with my family as well as my "Home Sweet Home" weather is the humidity climate back home ( Lolz just a random note btw).

Anyway grab a mug of Hot Chocolate with Extra Marshmallows as I review the items I got from the collection ;)

So I got 4 items from the collection that is a blush, an eyeshadow and 2 lip sticks!

The packaging of this products are cute! One of the most attractive packaging from essence I have seen in a while with the whole knitted sweater print on the eye shadows and blushes.

1) Soft Touch Blush in 01 Knits For Chicks

First thing I got is a soft touch blush in 01 Knit for Chicks ( interesting name ;p)

I love the Nordic Knit sweater pattern in the blush which the print looks deep.

I picked this up as I have been needing a pink blush ( i only owe 2 blushed but in "fun colours") so I thought this will be very nice for everyday use.

The collection does have another blush in orange but I just went for the basic.

One thing I love about essence have to be the pigmentation of their products! You only need a light hand when applying your blush!

You can wear the pink or berry on its own or swirl the pink and the berry together.

2) Mono Eyeshadow in 01 Happy Couching

The eyeshadow that I got is in 01 Happy Couching which btw Couching is a knitting/embroidery technique (according to google search Lolz)

The chocolate brown colour has slight shimmers

It's very pigmented! Just looking at it reminds me of hot chocolate ;3

There were two other colours but i didnt really think i will use it as much as the brown.

This collection came with 2 lipsticks which I got both.

I love essence lip sticks but I only get them when they are limited edition or else my makeup collection will be chocked up with lip products. What's more I prefer their stay with me long lasting lip glosses.

The lip sticks are very pigmented and creamy and I surprisingly don't own red lip sticks!

They glide on smoothly and dry matt like all the essence lipsticks.

Surprisingly they have a slight berry scent which non my essence lipsticks have but I guess they added the berry scent to suit the collection. If you enjoy the gummy fruity scent that essence lip glosses usually have then you will enjoy the lipsticks.

The only downside of the lipsticks is that I find them bit drying so I suggest to wear a bit of lip balm before applying the lipstick.

3) Long Lasting Lipstick 01 Red-y To Relax

If I were to describe this shade this will be "the perfect red lip" lipstick shade (Taylor Swift Red Lips Anyone??? :P)

04) Long Lasting Lipstick in 02 Berry Me Home

Like the name its a deep berry red shade which I find it perfect for the coming autumn/winter months

The essence stand at Target

Price:
Blush: $5.50
Eyeshadow: $3.50
Lipsticks :  $4.50

Where to get : Target Aus

Overview:
With this Home Sweet Home theme it sure came out at the right time as the shades are especially great for the fall/winter months which is what Australia  is transitioning to.

Of all of the stuff that i picked up i have to say that the lip sticks are the ones i love.

This is one of my favorite trend edition from Essence so far!

Got anything from the trend edition???

What does home sweet home mean to you???

#NOTD (Nail of the day): Edgy Tiffany Blue Modern Fench Manicure

A sweet colour with a hint of edginess

Heya!

So i usually don't do my nails unless i feel like it as i usually don't have the patience or time.

Today after class i somehow just feel like giving my nails a bit of color so i took out my two favorite nail polish from essence and for the first time in MONTHS i gave myself a manicure.

I may not be neat when it comes to painting my nails but i am happy with the outcome of this nail polish therapy.

The Tiffany Blue color in 53 You Belong To Me is of all of the nail polish i own my favorite as not only does it look sweet and the name remind me of that Taylor Swift song but it also remind me of my mum and how when we go window shopping we will stare at the windows of the Tiffany & Co store admiring the display.
What's more my favorite colour is blue!

At the tip of my nails with the help of some tape i place the 85 Galactic black which is a black polish with silver sparkles to give this nail look an edge! as nice and sweet the Tiffany Blue nail polish looks on its own i somehow find it a bit plain so result of this edgier looking french manicure!

This are unfortunately the older Essence nail polish bottles so i am not so sure where find them now that they are discontinued.

Other than that i love the formula of essence nail polish and i have recently pick few essence items at Target!

Look out for that Haul or Review soon!

What do you think of this Nail of the day?

Song Review: David Archuleta No Matter How Far Album

Heya

Its been a while since i blog about music and since I move to this new blog i thought i should start doing song review again.

So i thought i should start with my one of my favorites singers that is David Archuleta which if you followed my previous blog you will have seen a few full of ramble blog posst (kinda a big regret but hey that was when i first started blogging lolz).

If you are an Archie/ArchAngle when you will know that he is currently on a 2 year hiatus for a Morman Mission. With that he seem to have been planning for a while cause in the past 2 ++ years he have released 3 albums! yup! 3 albums!

One that was Forevermore which is a album full of Philippine song covers, Begin which is his 5th Studio album full of OPM (Original Pinoy Music) covers and one original song (Broken) and just last month he released his 6th Studio album that was called No Matter How Far.

Now to be honest as excited as i was for No Matter How Far I was not really looking forward to buying the album as 80% of the track list are actually bonus songs that was released in Asian edition of some of David's albums as bonus tracks or albums that are exclusively available in Asia which i already own most of the cds so i decided to get those that i don't have off iTunes ... for now... as i might purchase the album in future.

I was however looking forward to the two NEW never before hears songs that was Don't Run Away and Hearts Fall Out.

Track List for the No Matter How Far and track by track review

1) Nothing Else Better To Do

This is a cute song that when i close my eyes i think of Hawaii beaches and just enjoying the breeze and wishing that there was 25 hours in a day! Its like David's version of Bruno Marz "Lazy Song" but more lay back and relax .

My favorite line is your velvet on a red cupcake as Red Velvet cupcake is one of my favorite cakes!

This will be very nice sung live with just a guitar or a ukelele which i am hoping that David will feature this in upcoming concerts when he gets back #DA2014

Original Album : The Other Side Of Down Japan Bonus Track

2) Everything And More

Now this is a lovestruck balled that i loved from the moment i first heard it on flyfm back in Malaysia and was released specially for the Asian Tour 2011 along with a few other songs.

Its kinda a "endless love" sort of song with the whole we're everything and more  line.

Original Album : The Other Side Of Down: Asian Tour Edition

3) Don’t Run Away

This i was really excited for!

I actually heard this a few months before the album announcement and the Official Release as it was leaked on the internet.

When i first heard this, the piano intro gave me a nostalgic feeling when i first heard Crush! Only difference is this is a sad song, where a person is pinning his/her lover not to leave.

If I were to compare the style of this song with David's previous work i will have to say it is a mixture of Crush from the piano style but he is singing with the emotions that we see in Wait ( which this song is featured in this album as well) with the Don't go/ Don't Run Away part.

I also love the Music Video which the artist did an AMAZING job with the artworks.

Check out the music Video here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7utll07eHw

4) Tell Me

This song just reminded me of David back in his American Idols days where his angelic glided nicely in balled. This song was covered for the OPM album Forevermore which i already owned and have played this countless times on my iTunes.

David nailed this powerful balled beautifully. Nuf said :P

Original Album : Forevermore (OPM Album)

5. Love Don’t Hate

This is one of those songs with a many meanings. I feel like the message is "think before you act" as we all make mistakes or say stuff that can "cut" and without knowing it hurts others.

This is kind of an apologetic song like asking for forgiveness as well as an advice to others not to repeat one's mistake.

To me another meaning of it is to respect others as some things we do without knowing could offend others.

Original Album : The Other Side Of Down: Asian Tour Edition

6. “Wait”

Like Don't Run Away , Wait is an emotional but powerful balled where the person is pleading someone not to go away.

"Wait wait wait don't go"

I remember watching the music video (which i till now still dont understand the hidden meaning) and wow... it's a sad song. This i will not really call it a love song as it sounds sounds like he is singing the emotions of loosing someone.

Original Album : The Other Side Of Down: Asian Tour Edition

7. Heart Falls Out

Move aside Chris Brown and Ne-Yo! David can sing  (and maybe even dance) to techno R&B too!

Amazing mixture of R&B, Techno and Pop ! It feel just happy listening to this bubbly mixture!

Its nice to hear playful techno-ish songs from David every now and then! It kinda remind me of Look Around which coincidentally this song is written with the same writer Victoria Horn!

Just hearing it gives me that same happy feeling of when i listen to Parachutes and Airplanes as well as Rainbow! You feel so happy you just want to jump and dance to the song with happiness! lolz :P

This NEW never before released track i am sure got the whole fan base Heart Fall Out!

8. Notice Me

A soft balled where the story is just as the title says where you hope for that person you have your eyes on to notice you.

Original Album : The Other Side Of Down: Asian Tour Edition

9. “I’ll Never Go”

This songs till today still brings tears to my eyes as it was like David's "farewell song" when his departures for his mission.

"I'll never go far away from you"

As a fan i think he purposely choose this song to "comfort" the fan base that even though  he is on his mission, he will still be here and still be making music.

Check out the MV : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duC219F8dvo

Original Album : Forevermore (OPM Album)

10. “Forevermore”

Whenever i hear forevermore i think of the Nandiko Ako the drama series David did last year!

This OPM song is beautiful! A great endless love balled!

Check out the MV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYIwAwiKW-g

Original Album : Forevermore (OPM Album)

Hope you all like this track by track review!

I "tried" to keep this simple but obviously my brain and fingers have a mind of its own (lolz)

Anyway this is just my thoughts on the whole album. Of cause i will say get the album especially if you are not in Asia and want to get your hands on the never before release tracks!

All the songs are great and I am really glad that this selection of songs for the album are chosen!

My fav song from the album is Hearts Falls Out not only because it is a new song but because it sounds fun, happy and unique! To me this stands out the most!

What is your fav song from the album?

Haul: Room Organisation containers from Diaso

So I am never really known for a neat room so while I was at Diaso on Swanston Street I saw a few containers that were unique and that I thought it can help organise my room at a great budget.

GOT A BIG BAG HERE :p

I am usually hesitance when it comes to buying containers to decorate my room as it can be expensive but everything at Diaso was $2.8 !!

I got 4 items to organize my room... could have gotten more but I wanted to get a few basic "I NEED THEM IN MY LIFE" containers that were useful for storage and also nice to decorate.

So I numbered the items so that i can reviewed them without " clogging" my blog with pictures (learn my lesson with the last blog post ... ah well :P

1) Circle Shower Caddy

So first i got this basket in a nice tiffany blue color (my favourite color by the way if you can tell with my blog post picture watermarks) and i use this as a shower caddy as even though i have been in Australia for three years i have nothing like this (previously use a bucket btw) to keep all my toiletries and this is a great height and saiz at a great price!

2) Accessory Stand

Now i don't know why it is called an accessory stand as 1 it was in the make up / beauty area and 2 i always thought accessory stand was for jewellery and this does not look any ware close to on.

Anyway i decided to use this "accessory stand" as a make up organizer and it is ALOT cheaper than those i saw in Priceline which could range from AUD 5 to AUD 20++ which i think its not really worth the price if you ask me.

This is definitely a life saver for me and for the price its a great investment to organize your make up storage so that it wont look like a huge pile of clutter!

3) Interior Wooden Box

This container/box/whatever you want to call it caught my eyes cause of the word " Memphis City Limit" and as cheesy as it sounds but it reminds me of two songs that i love!

One song is Steve McQueen  by Sheryl Crow as there is a line that says "went to bed in Memphis"
another one is Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner but i prefer the glee version more (Santana KILLED it!)
yup i am that cheesy lolz!

I also find this box cute and very Americanized with that route 10 sign (although i wish it was route 66 lolz). At first i have TOTALLY NO IDEA what to use this container for... but i eventually made use of it for all my little bottle of lotion, skincare and hair bushes!

4) Interior Wooden Tray

Lastly before i ramble (or type ) too much is a cute wooden tray that was in the same area as the wooden box .

This tray from first glance i know what i am going to use if for and where i will put it as it is JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR but nicer and made of wood instead of plastic!

It has the qoute on the bottom "The Most Beautiful Scenery Which You Have" which i was like 0.o haha!

But to tell you the truth this tray makes it a "nicer" and cleaner view on where i place it which is on top of my printer. Why my printer? cause i use it to keep all the random things i have on my desk that has nothing to do with studying like mirror, watches and lip balm!

I just chuck them into the tray and i am good to go as my desk look less messy and i now know where EVERYTHING IS!

Hope this haul is helpful for you guys to find great unique looking organizing containers at a great bargain!

Any questions, comment or just want a chat then comment down below :)

Review: Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon Kit

Heya!

So the other night i was browsing on asos.com and i came across the Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon Kit on their beauty section. From a glance i immediately tough of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balms or those Clinique Chubby Sticks. So i went to Ulta.com (via google search) and looked at the reviews and saw that it was if not 100% positive it was 99% positive reviews  so that convinced me to buy it as i have been wanting crayon shaped lip sticks for a while and there is no way i am willing to spend AUD 17 for the ones from Revlon or AUD30 ++ from Clinique!

So i made an order for this set as for the price of 1 ++ revlon lip crayons i get 6 different shades to play with!
 The Packaging

The box is a nice salmon pink with lots of flowers decorated on the side which is nice for spring (although it is Autumn here in Australia)!

The Lip Crayons also have the same flower design !

From Left to Right: Fuchsia Flirt, Rose Romance, Petal Passion, Apricot Adore, Coral Crush, and Barely Bitten

This lip crayon names are true to their name (except Petal Passion) and even the packaging colour are true to the color of the lip crayons.

All six shades can use as it is or apply a clear gloss for a bit of shine for a bit of shine. The colours are build able.

They have a soft minty scent and a minty feel on the lips (like the ones from Revlon )

Pros:

This kit is a good value for money (although i am aware of those Tarte lip crayons but i cant get access to them ... unfortunately)

They feel really creamy and a bit glossy but not sticky like a lip gloss as well as they dry matte on the lips.

A good all in one product to keep in the bag as they are moisturizing and give color to the lips.

They are retractable (like a lipsticks) so no sharpening needed!

They can be use as a "lip liner" as i actually outline my lips with the crayons before i "color" them in.

Because they are creamy they are easy to apply!  They glide on smoothly.

The colours are pigmented (except Petal Passion as its a clear balm).

Cons

They do not last for a long time. They fade the moment you eat and drink but they leave a stain of colour on your lips.

I was disappointing about Petal Passion being a clear gloss but i will go into details down below.

Describing each colors

Fuchsia Flirt

A nice bright fuchsia pink and it looks really bright on my lips. I love this for more statement lip.

Rose Romance

The packaging look like a dusty rose colour but it turns out as a nude pink on the lips. To be honest this is my least favorite shade but i still do wear it every now and then.

Patel Passion

Ok so the packaging and the lip stick might look like a baby bauble gum pink colour but this came out clear! I was at first kinda disappointed with this but after testing out all the lip crayons i realize how much i love the moisturizing and the minty scent so i thought  this will come in handy on days where i don't want to wear any lip colour but still want to use this lip crayons.

Coral Crush

I have been seeing alot of lip colour with the name of Coral Crush lately so i was excited to see this in the set! Like the name, this is a bright orange coral color with a hint of pink. Now this i love as bright coral lips are my favorite statement lip!

  Apricot Adore

This is a shade or two lighter that the Coral Crush  and like the name it is a apricot orange colour. This i like to wear it as it is or layer it with the next crayon that is Barely Bitten. By the way i love the name Apricot! On of my favorite fruit ! lolz :">

Barely Bitten

Lastly is Barely Bitten which is a peachy nude shade and I find that I love this as I never owned anything that is nude!

From Left to Right: Fuchsia Flirt, Rose Romance, Petal Passion ( The "Invisible"one), Apricot Adore, Coral Crush, and Barely Bitten

So there you have my first impression, swatches and review on the Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon Kit!

They can be purchased at the following places:

USA: ULTA  - USD 25
Internasional:  ASOS - AUD 28.70 (free international shipping)

Now for Asos i didn't pay the full price as i took advantage of mu Uni's O-WEEK coupon at 20% discount so i only paid $23.00. If you are a student you can get 10% at a normal time but if you want to save more money then i suggest goggling ASOS coupon code and see if you can get a better discount.

Other than that i have to say this is going to be put into good use this Autumn ( i am in Australia btw) and i am going to end this LONG post now.

However if you want to hear me ramble a bit further on camera check out my Youtube channel down below :P

lolz :3

Till next time

Review : Beauty Attitude Jumble Eyeshadow Crayons from Target AUS

Heya!!!

So the other day I was at Target and as I was browsing those little bins near the target I came upon this container full of $3 make up. I have seen this Target "home brand" $3 make up before but nothing came to my attention but this new line from a brand call Beauty Attitude somehow "called" me to give it a try!

Looking around I saw ALOT of Jumbo Lip and Eye Crayons / colours in a good range of colours!

Now because I am still unfamiliar with this brand, I allowed my self to get one item which I choose the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Copper Moon.

Now why of all the things this?

This is kinda because when I saw the colour of the eyeshadow stick trough it's transparent cap I thought of the NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Yogurt which is a shimmery champagne gold with a bit of pink. Its kinda like a crayon version of Urban Decay Sin eyeshadow.

The Packaging:

Like the name "Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil" its like a big crayon. Comparing it to the NYX Jumbo Eye pencil it is shorter and fatter but a good thing about it is that you don't have to sharpen as it is retractable aka twisted! This is good as i still am in need of getting a sharpener for my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk and i don't think they sell sharpener for pencil this "FAT" in the market.

Pigmentation & Quality :

Swatching it on my eyes and hands, it was at first a bit "stiff" and didn't glide on smoothly but after play with it for a while I actually like the creaminess of the pencil. Yes it glide on smoothly after playing around a bit but still not as smoothly as the NYX pencil as this I had to press down HARD for its pigmentation so show the first few time I swatch it.

It glide nicely on my eyes and and blends alright with my fingers ( I know some prefer brushes but I my fingers to me are the best tool for the job) and after tested it while I was studying for 4 hours on my eyes it have yet to crease!

I'll probably test it's lasting power a bit more one of this days to see how long it last. But other than that I am quiet impress with the pigmentation and the quality.

Price: all of target home brand make up are at $3 which is really cheap here in Australia as let's face it... The inflation on make up is RIDICULOUS here!!!! :/

Where to get : Target Aus

Overall: - a 4/5. It has good colour payoff and and and it feels fine on my eyes. I will continue playing around with this but so far I definitely think this is a great dupe for NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Yogurt !

I am impress with Target's new "home brand" make up Beauty Attitude and I am planing to try more from the collection range.

So if you have always dream of getting a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil and is not a fan of online shopping the I suggest going to Target and trying out the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil now!!!

Any question??? just Ask/Comment!
